What was Dr Watson's middle name?
« on: 13 October, 2016, 06:15:26 AM »
I've seen American films where Dr Watson says his name is, "Dr John A Watson". Is there any literature to back that up and if so what does the A stand for?

Referring of course to  Sherlock Holmes' companion and biographer. The films starred Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.

He should say John H Watson because it's Hamish. Although not the same series, this one has been very faithfully remade from the original books.

He probably did say H because I was thinking to myself as I asked this question was it A or Aitch?
