In Ireland it looks like theres going to be a referendum on the abolition of the upper house of parliament, the Senate, which is indirectly elected. I was interested to hear what people think of upper houses of parliament and are you in favour of them? On the one hand, I think its good to have an extra chamber to filter some of the laws the government wants to introduce, but on the other hand, the Irish Senate doesnt do much, isnt elected by the people and costs of a lot of money to run. Not sure how Im going to vote on this one...
