24 hours from Tulsa?
« on: 28 February, 2015, 05:05:08 AM »
Where would I be if I was 24 Hours Away From Tulsa? I presume from Gene Pitney's song's lyrics (where he pulls into a motel) that this is 24 hours away driving by car.

Assuming an average highway speed of 55mph...that would make a 24 hour drive be about 1,320 miles. Hefty.

I'd probably be arriving on Highway 412 or if coming from the north on Highway 75.

So where would I be if I was 24 hours drive time from Tulsa?

And is there anything worth stopping off to see there?

Well it seems that you could on either coast of the USA or North in Canada or South in Mexico.
West - Los Angeles - 21 hours, Modesto or Reno - 24 hours.
South - Mexico City
South East - Key West.
East - Providence, Rhode Island.
Canada - Quebec, Saskatoon, Lethbridge.
North West - Boise Idaho.

Some are a little less than 24 hours.. he would need to have a comfort break or two... whisl

He could, of course, be riding the Greyhound buses, in which case he'd be a lot closer.
