International Mother Language Day
« on: 21 February, 2015, 10:28:17 AM »
Inaugurated by UNESCO in 1999, 21 February is  International Mother Language Day.

My mother's favourite expression when I was a nipper  was a finger wagging  " You just wait till your father gets home!"

As a 75 year old she came out with this chestnut " You cant take everything you read in the bible as gospel."

Any other maternal bon mots?

How about "I could do that with one eye tied behind my back!"
"I live in hope"
