I have always thought that 're-fried' beans only ever got fried once.

They'd go all gloopy and squidgy if fried over and over again.

They may be mashed etc once fried but I think the "RE-fried" bit is just a totally mis-pronounced mangling of the word "REally FRIED" beans.

Which they are...really fried....but 're-fried' as in left-over beans fried up again they are not, amigo.
