Why are this government doing their best......

........to trigger a house price bubble with their latest hare-brained scheme?
Subsidising home loans to people who cant afford to finance one themselves with tax payers money is surely going down the same road that ended the in the housing bubble burst in the USA with the collapse of FANNIE MAE and FREDDIE MAC which exposed the whole mess we are in now, ie toxic indebtedness.
Treating  housing as a commodity rather than what it really is, an essential, a place for people to live, shelter from the elements, a place to grow and raise families, will lead inevitably to the sharp practices of estate agents, mortgage lenders, and property developers  making wadges of money until the bubble inevitably bursts again.
IMHO The accomodation market should be strictly regulated and governed by a responsible body and not left to the sharks and spivs who have control of it now!
