"NEW" topic tags on mother board.
« on: 08 March, 2012, 06:35:02 PM »
I have long suspected that they are not working correctly as I have been disappointed on clicking one to find nothing new on the child board at all.
Now I know its not working cos I just posted into health and well-being and it hasnt brought up a "NEW" tag.
It's small beer - and if you are aware of it you can ignore it.
Just thought I'd let admin know.

Subjects can be flagged up as 'new' if someone goes in and amends an answer, which could explain the finding nothing new thing.
This second one's a guess, but I don't think anything's flagged as new to the person that posts it, but would be to anyone else.

Poo! I popped back and read it already after following the 'unread posts since...' link.

Try again now.

Yep, tells me it's new - as did the other one (your Tango Q).

Yep, tells me it's new - as did the other one (your Tango Q).
Well be that as it may - they dont work e.g. I just glanced at the motherboard and clicked the NEW tag for science  and the screen came up informing me "There are no new topics since you last visit" Is it possibly that it remains NEW if I dont answer the question or no one else has? Any way its a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. I shall continue to ignore it and use the "See all the latest posts" and trawl thro them till I reach the last one I have  previously read. Bang head
