Why is it April Fools Day?
« on: 01 April, 2009, 08:15:56 AM »
Where did the tradition start of pranking and tricking on this day? It seems they do it in lots of countries, it isn't just Britain ... for example it is fish day or something in France, they sneak stickers of fish on peoples' backs, chocolate fish in the shops etc.
So, why ... and when did it start?

Looks like it's from when they changed the start of the year from April 1st to January 1st - anyone who forgot was considered a fool http://www.netglimse.com/holidays/april_fools%27_day/cultural_traditions.shtml
