'These next two may be a bit dubious....

So in the good old panel show tradition - no points for hesitation; I said PEPSI with conviction!! Joy

You can also get Sea bass - I suppose you didn't notice that because you were just doing it really quickly,  so you could get in before me!

I did look for sea bass but didn't spot it. Well done Mrs Too. I must have had too much to drink!!!

Perhaps you can enlighten me how you got SEA BASS without breaking the chain - I can get as far as SEA BAS near the top of the grid - how do you get the extra S? Perhaps I have had more to drink than I thought.

I was going along with the assumption of siasl that you could be stationary on a letter to use it twice.
Some of the other words are made in the same way.

I think 'hopping on the spot' is totally fair, Mrs Too...if it ain't specifically banned then it must be OK.

But Seacommander's sneaky suggestion of using foreign words (shock, horror!) I think goes a step too far...words like PESCE, PESCA (well whaddaya expect from someone with a name like Seacommander?) while a good find, get thrown back in the sea...unless others disagree.

Anyway, Bass and possibly Seabass swim into the list...so the 50 mark is achieved. I think.

My last full 'list so far' was a bit too full...it contained a duplication of 'bran'. Well spotted Ant. I really must try harder, but his 'Manna' comes in to replace it plus...

New entries from Mrs Too..

Bass
Seabass
Balm
Black rice
Black Kale
Recipes? - well, it is food related. (That seems perfectly OK to me...What does the Team think?)

Manna
Spices
Veal
Crisps
Goose
Cheese
Cake (If you can make Cheese and Cake can you make a Cheesecake too - that'd take it over 50!)
Teacake
Slab (Mrs P-K wonders if this something to do with patio builders' lunches? Or some Northern thing she has never encountered in her sheltered life in the Home Counties?)
Grape
Bread
Beer
Ocra (variant spelling?)
Lamb
Pork
Ale
Peas
Bake
Grappa
Coors
Cream
Crackers
Banana
Rice
Pike
Cocoa
Endive
Pie
Herb
Ham

That may be so - I was going along with the rules set by PK, and I think, the game. I think you and Siasl have been playing by politicians' rules - ie make them up as you go along!!! I think this whole posting has been a great one and so interesting to see how a topic can develop.
