I'm horribly grumpy and intolerant today.  Is there any way of stopping myself from being so grouchy?

Venting will sometimes do it - let off steam to a chum, or write an e-mail to those causing you grief, but don't necessarily send it...or, even do!

I find that sugar causes grumpiness in me - namely the come-down after the sugar high. No more sugary snacks

Alternatively hunger can cause it.

venting is good, as is distracting yourself from possible causes of grumpiness. try eating low GI foods as that will balance your blood sugar levels (less sugar hi/low mood swings), and go out for a 5 min walk.

stomp some. kick leaves. grr. arg.

As the saying goes count your blessings each and every one and smile seeing how lucky you are and throw the grumpiness out of the window and just say I'm the luckiest person around

Get more sleep.
Difficult when there are kids in the house though.

Particularly when one refuses to go to bed at night, and the other one wakes up at 5:30 every morning.....

Long walks in the countryside. Ending in a nice country pub. Better than cold showers etc.

No, no Duff.  None of these.

You have offended someone.  His/her witch doctor is beating your voodoo doll with a stick.

Anyone would feel grumpy in that situation.  In fact, that's the purpose of the beating.

You need some Big Magic to make you feel better.

You can get that by doing a good deed for someone you don't like; or else finding someone who is upset or angry with you, and doing whatever it takes to make things right.  Then you will be flooded with good energy, and the witch doctor will be defeated.

Kent, did you realise that Big Magic is only two letters away from Big Mac?  I need some comfort food!   Shocked Cool

So does that mean a Big Mac is a low GI food then?   rolls eyes

Stuffing his trim and well-muscled gut with junk-food empty calories is not going to solve Duff's problem.

That's like observing the Begin is only two letters away from Gin.  So, instead of encouraging Duff to begin doing what is necessary to relieve his grumpiness, one might suggest that he would be as well off to slosh down a hearty quantity of Gin.

A person's intake of Gin has no effect in overcoming malevolent witch doctors.  Duff just needs to begin doing something that will ward off the voodoo effects, and his grumpiness will go away.

Big Macs, of course, are fine in their place.  In my home, that place happens to be the garbage can, but naturally that's not a standard that others should necessarily copy.  Yet whatever you may think of Big Macs, I defy you to demonstrate that they chase away witch doctors.

There are many cures for grumpiness...Finding the right one depends entirely on the cause of the grumpiness. So... Look within, find the cause, and hence find the cure......my own personal favorite has got to be chocolate, and a game of footie with my four year old grandson...we always end up giggling.Hard to be grumpy when in a fit of giggles. It even makes witch doctors smile.
