For example, there's a Colton just outside York, near Tadcaster, and another Colton about 10 miles away on the outskirts of Leeds.  Are there any places with the same name closer together?

 scottish borders there are 3 that border each other grand total distance is 3.5 miles from the top one to the bottom one if i remember correctly
