A jokey website I was looking at yesterday said there were plenty of historical cases (many of them recent) that said people splitting open stones had found a frog inside. A living frog!

Of course, I have heard that frogs hibernate but I am not totally doolally. Even I know that rocks can take hundreds or even thousands of years to form round an object, let alone round a living frog.

But the website seemed pretty convinced that it's true...that living frogs have been found encased in stones.

So my question is - Can this possibly be true? Can living frogs be found inside stones? And have they? And just how does this work eh?
