Do seeds have brains?
« on: 28 November, 2017, 04:38:03 PM »
Seeds seem pretty smart, don't they?   I mean, if I deliberately plant a seed upside down it doesn't get tricked into sending its stem growing downwards.  Instead, it sort of 'knows' it has to send its stem down for half an inch or so and then turn it round by 180 degrees and send it shooting straight back upwards instead.

How does a seed know all this?  If seeds don't have brains, how do they do it?
