How far up does the scale go and what does pH stand for?

Can you still not see the questions area?  I've just created a new username (without any admin abilities) and I can see it.  Bizarre!

Anyway, 1 is a strong acid, 14 is a strong alkali.
pH is apparently (according to wiki) an abbreviation for Power of Hydrogen.

No, only the one - I could see two when I first signed up, but only the cafe now, it appears to be a sub-set of Intelligent Questions, but I can't access that one.
