Is red wine more fattening than white wine?
« on: 19 April, 2019, 08:25:09 PM »
I am confused.  I used to drink red wine - and then, about five years ago, I switched to white wine.  I don't seem to have lost any weight.  Or put any on.

So is red white more fattening than white wine?  Or vice versa?  Or are they about the same in the fat stakes?

I wouldn't think it would make any difference. More likely to be whether its a dry or sweet wine.

A lot depends on metabolism . The alcohol in wine decreases food absorption so either would have that effect . The calories in the wine itself could be used up more easily if one made you more active than the other . Red wine is known to decrease plaque in blood vessels so it would be healthier in that respect . The same substance in red wine that does that is also found in soy sauce .
