Title: Why does head hair so often go grey before eyebrows?

I suspect it is linked to abuse. Eyebrows are often left untouched, so it is less likely they'd suffer the damage that causes grayness. Although I have had white head, eyebrow and beard hairs, but none below the neck... Yet...

I see your point, but I started going grey in my early/mid twenties and apart from the odd flirtation with red and blue highlights (not at the same time), didn't really ever fiddle much with the colour, never had a perm, straighteners weren't invented  :-[

But you do wash and brush it, which puts it under stress.
